Quilting
House wall hanger
This quilting project was fun to complete, take one printed piece of material, one plain piece for the backing, wadding for the middle, needle and cotton and away you go, or should that be away you sew. You place the wadding on the back of the picture piece of material and start by putting big tacking stitches to hold the wadding in place then you have free range to quilt wherever you like, you can do as little or as much there are no set rules, well not in my book anyway. When you are happy with the quilting you sew the back plain piece of material to the front and there you go. On this project I have added some rings and a pole to be hung as a wall picture.
Cat cushion covers
Every cat needs a nice cushion to snuggle up on, Boots being no different from any other cat. I made the covers the same way as the wall hanger above but this time put a cushion in the middle of the picture and plain backing.
Keith and Jackies wedding ring posy
Something a little different but still quilting. Two pieces of silk, wadding to pad it out, lace to run around the cushion and ribbon to add a touch of colour. Ideal for a wedding ring cushion.
Christmas 1995 projects
1995 saw us travelling out to Zimbabwe for the first family Christmas in many many years. I took out as gifts quilted aprons. The place mats were for the table here at home.
A cot quilt for Millie
Just taken delivery of my new sewing machine, had to get to work with it straight away. This is a cot quilt for baby Millie, my latest granddaughter. As per usual not a conventional pattern more of a 'I did it my way' pattern. It was fun to make and the new machine is really good.
