Encaustic Art
Encaustic Art is really easy to do. All it takes is a special iron, special paper and wax blocks. All of these items can be purchased on the web. To create a stunning picture, like those included in this art page, take your iron, and wax, melt the wax on the iron, using whatever colours you wish and start to iron your special paper. I use the word special a lot because that it what you need when working in Encaustic Art, it is no good trying to use any old paper. The iron is smaller than your normal clothes iron, set on the lowest heat setting it has. It is more of a case of letting your inner art shine through. When I do these I do not think anymore than what colours I want to use, then I let my hand/arm take over. I hate normal ironing but somehow this is very calming to do. Once the picture is finished, to my eye, I then let it dry and gently polish it over with a clean piece of kitchen roll. This gives the picture a lovely shine. And there you have it one very effective picture.
Normal art?
You can of course, if you wish, produce what would be seen as 'normal' art but for me why bother when you can produce such stunning pictures without really thinking - my kind of work :)
I was lucky enough to be asked to take one of my art class sessions, it was in encaustic art, and as you can see from the results they all loved it...
